— Services for George W. Bartz, 87, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Paul Witmer will officiate. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.

Mr. Bartz died Monday, Jan. 27, 1992, at the Eudora Nursing Center. He was a lifelong resident of Eudora.

He was born May 3, 1904, in Eudora, the son of Fred and Lydia (Hass) Bartz. He attended Eudora public schools, graduating from Eudora High School. He attended Kansas University for two years.

Mr. Bartz was a telegraph installer for the Santa Fe Railway. He was office manager for Mutual Telephone Co. of Eudora from 1928 to 1960. After retiring from Mutual, he repaired radios and televisions for several years.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 42 and C.P.A., all of Eudora.

He married Zena Ziegler on Dec. 9, 1933, in Eudora. She died July 26, 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Touchton, Pittsburg; a stepdaughter, Janice Colman, Eudora; a stepson, LaVerne Guenther, Lawrence; a brother, Ray Bartz, Eudora; and two sisters, Dorothea Evans, Lawrence, and Pearl Seyler, Ottawa; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.
