Abilene, Texas — Graveside services for Paul Nelson Gregory Sr., 73, Abilene, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, with the Rev. Murray Travis officiating.
Mr. Gregory died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1992, at an Abilene nursing home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Brownwood, Tex., the son of John William and Jesse Castro Gregory. He graduated from high school in Brownwood and attended Daniel Baker College, now Howard-Payne University.
He lived in several cities over the years, including Lawrence, moving to Abilene in 1972.
Mr. Gregory was a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1965. He later worked for the post office in Abilene. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He married his wife, Margaret, on June 6, 1942, in Albuquerque, N.M. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Paul Nelson Jr., Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Margaret Pierce, Overland Park, and Patricia Skahan, Lawrence; a brother, Marshall Gregory, San Angelo, Tex.; and eight grandchildren.
