Perry Services for Myron "Muggs" C. Leonard, 72, Perry, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
Mr. Leonard died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1992, at his home.
He was born Sept. 22, 1919, at Humboldt, the son of James and Louise Hartwig Leonard.
Mr. Leonard had lived in the Perry community since 1957, moving there from Topeka. An Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Mr. Leonard worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and later for the Jeffrey Energy Center at St. Marys before he retired.
He was a member of the Perry Post No. 142 of the American Legion, the Eagles Lodge in Perry, Local No. 307 of United Rubber Workers and the Steam Fitters Union No. 165, both of Topeka.
He married Marjorie Greer on March 16, 1940, at Ottawa. They later divorced.
He married Hazel Freeman Childers on Sept. 21, 1989, in Olathe. She survives of the home. A daughter, Ginger Lou Leonard, died Sept. 16, 1940.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Porter, Topeka; two sons, John and Steve, both of Perry; two sisters, Genevie Brooks, Hillsboro, Ore., and Florence Brooks, Topeka; a stepson, William Childers, DeSoto; a stepdaughter, Ruth Berry, Altus, Ark.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will meet with friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Perry American Legion building. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
The family suggests memorials to the Jefferson County Visiting Nurses or the American Legion.
