A 21-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested Wednesday by Kansas University police on 13 counts of felony theft in connection with the Nov. 30 burglary of a locker room in Kansas University's Allen Fieldhouse.
The woman is the third person arrested in connection with the burglary of the locker room used by the Central Missouri State University basketball team during its game with KU. Police said sports equipment and personal items, valued at $14,000, were taken from the locker room.
KU police officer Burdel Welsh said this morning that KU police interviewed the woman Wednesday night and arrested her after the interview. He said the woman has been a suspect since the investigation began, but he would not discuss the woman's alleged involvement in the theft.
She was taken to the Douglas County Jail and bond was set at $13,000. The woman was released shortly after midnight. Her first court appearance is set for 4 p.m. today.
Jeff Holly, 23, Lawrence, has been charged with 12 felony counts of theft and one felony count of burglary in the case. His preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20. He is free on $5,000 bond.
