Services for Raymond Bernard Williams, 82, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westside Presbyterian Church, Lawrence. The Rev. Robert Freitag will officiate. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mr. Williams died Monday, Jan. 20, 1992, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Sedalia, Mo., to Benjamin Lou and Frances Belle Bernard Williams.
He moved to Nevada, Mo., in 1921, and attended Nevada schools, graduating from high school there in 1928. He moved to Lawrence in 1930 and was a clerk at Rusty's IGA for more than 30 years. He retired in 1965.
His hobbies were fishing and mushroom hunting.
He married Thelma D. Pontius in 1939. She died Feb. 20, 1976. He married Emilee Lavon Brown Hickock on Oct. 6, 1985, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Raymond "R.B." of Baldwin and Frank W., Lawrence; three daughters, Donna Hammett, New Braunfels, Tex., Susan Clark, Palatine, Ill., and Martha Barrand, Omaha, Neb.; two stepsons, Harold Hickock, Lecompton, and John Hickock, Ottawa; a stepdaughter, Elaine Rogers, Olathe; a sister, Opal Moore, Gladstone, Mo.,; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Westside Presbyterian Church.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey Funeral Home, Lawrence. The family will meet with friends after the service.
