Services for William H. Penny, 72, Lawrence, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Virgil Brady officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Penny died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992, at his home.
He was born June 13, 1919, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Corbon and Myrtle Peebles Penny. He had lived in Lawrence most of his life.
He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and had attended Kansas University.
A retired farmer and mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Mr. Penny was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Branch No. 104 of the National Association of Letter Carriers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees No. 378, and the Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the Americal Legion.
He married Mildred L. Johanning on Dec. 26, 1948, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Miles, Valley Center, Nancy Mauller, Cypress, Tex., and Beverly Dragastin, Virginia, Neb.; three brothers, James C. and Lawrence D., both of Lawrence, and Lowell H., Ames, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and until noon Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the church in care of the mortuary.
