Larry Smith, a Lawrence real estate agent, was named 1991 Realtor of the Year by the Lawrence Board of Realtors during its annual banquet Friday night.
Mary Lou Roberts received the organization's 1991 Salesperson of the Year award.
Recipients of both awards are chosen by a vote of the Lawrence Board of Realtors' membership at large.
"It's an opportunity for us to recognize people who have contributed to the organization, given of their time, and participated in a lot of the committees and activities," said Dennis Grover, who was installed as the organization's new president during the banquet.
Other Realtors who will serve as officers for 1992 are Terry Gittins, president-elect; Russ Lang, secretary; and Karen Smith, treasurer. Kay Wertzberger, Doug Stephens and Leta White are directors.
Six members were named to the 1991 Honor Society. To gain membership in this group, agents must meet criteria that include attendance at national and state conventions, service to the profession and ontaining additional education on real estate.
The 1991 Honor Society inductees are: Grover, Doug Brenn, Bev Hill, Connie Kindsvater, Mike McGrew and Mary Richesson.
The organization also presented certificates for 1991 sales performance.
Mike Bogard was named to the Four Million Dollar Club, and Leta White to the Three Million Dollar Club.
Two Million Dollar Club members were: Gittins, Roberts, Edgar Grosdidier, Ken Morris and Debbie Tolar.
Named to the One Million Dollar Club were: Brenn, Grover, Lang, Mary Loo Bjorge, Sherrill Bushell, Mary Ellen Comeau, J.R. Demby, Pat Flavin, Mike Flory, Connie Friesen, Andy Galyardt, Lynne Green, Charles Gruber, Raydell Harrison, Kelvin Heck, Chuck Hedges, Sandy Hinton-Forbes, Bill Hudson, John McGrew, Melynn McGrew, Mike McGrew, Patty McGrew, Don Minnis, Becky Mondi, Gary Nuzum, Terry Platz, Karen Smith, Larry Smith, Dennis Snodgrass, Olene Sturdevant, Sallye Sykes, Linn Wiley and Shirley Yochim.
