Former Kansas offensive lineman Chris Perez sprained a knee in last Saturday's Hula Bowl in Honolulu and won't participate in this Saturday's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
The 6-5, 280-pound Perez suffered the non-serious knee injury while playing in the first offensive series for the West squad. At Kansas, the Palantine, Ill., product never missed a game because of an injury. He started all 44 games during his four-year career.
Meanwhile, former Kansas running back Tony Sands, who was also in the Hula Bowl, is scheduled to play in the East-West Shrine Classic in Palo Alto, Calif., on Sunday.
