— Services for Lucille Broers, 88, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Eudora with the Rev. Paul Witmer officiating. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.

Mrs. Broers died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1992, at her home.

She was born Oct. 11, 1903, in Kansas City, Kan., to Richard E. and Sylvia Mae Townsend Nuttall. She was a homemaker, and farmed with her husband in Weaver Bottoms. She worked for several years in food service for the Eudora public schools.

Mrs. Broers was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Eudora, where she took part in many church activities and taught Sunday school for many years. She volunteered at the Eudora meal site and in various capacities at Douglas County Senior Services. She is the past president of the Parent-Teacher Assn. in Eudora, and helped initiate the effort to build Eudora's first grade school in 1950. She also was the past treasurer of the Eudora Ministerial Alliance.

She married Clarence Broers on Nov. 21, 1933, in Ottawa. He died on March 26, 1964. She previously had been married to Harry Long, who died in 1929.

Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Rutherford, Lawrence, Beverly Edwards, Eudora, Jeanette Betterman, Superior, Wis., and Marjorie Coleman, Eudora; a son, Robert Long, Eudora; a sister, Dorothy Rowlan, Roach, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Eudora, which may be sent in care of the funeral home.
