The Lawrence school board will meet an hour earlier than usual Monday to continue its study of the district's budget. The study session will be at 6:30 p.m. at the district's Service Center, 3705 Clinton Pkwy.
During the regular meeting that will start at 7:30 p.m., the board is scheduled to:
Receive public comment from Michael Brown, a nurse at Haskell Indian Junior College, on the issues of school bus safety and teen pregnancy.
Discuss Channel 47, which Sunflower Cablevision has provided for the school district's use.
Discuss the use of school facilities.
Consider possible contracts for providing school district transportation.
Consider approving Future Astronaut Training Program scholarships.
Schedule a study session for a curriculum study and a review of the Quality Performance Accreditation program, which is the new school accreditation process being piloted by the Kansas Department of Education.
Hold an executive session on personnel, professional negotiations and site acquisition and sale.
