— Services for William Flavin, 51, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Family of Faith Church, Eudora. The Rev. Phillip Scott will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mr. Flavin died of a heart attack Thursday, Jan. 9, 1992, at a Kansas City, Mo., hospital. He suffered his first heart attack in March 1988 and had a heart transplant later that year.

He was born June 12, 1940, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Roy Robert and Irene Clede (Snites) Flavin.

He grew up in St. Joseph, Mo., but attended Elwood schools in Kansas. He moved to Eudora in 1966.

He worked at the International Paper Box Co. in Kansas City, Kan., until 1983 and at Packer Plastics until 1987.

Mr. Flavin was a member of the Family of Faith Church, Tri-County Archery Club, Mixed Nuts Bowling League and Heart Transplant Club. He also belonged to the Softball Heart Line organization in the transplant club.

He married Kennetta Hobbs on Aug. 4, 1958, in Troy. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, William, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., Timothy, Eudora; four daughters, Jennetta Hiatt and Jackie Foley, both of Lawrence, and Cindy Ryan and Diana Theis, both of Paola; four brothers, Robert, Des Moines, Iowa, Vern, Kansas City, Mo., and Jack and Gary, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; two sisters, Virginia Riggs, St. Joseph, Mo., and Patricia Glascock of Savannah, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Family of Faith Church.

Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Rumsey Funeral Home, Lawrence, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
