Graveside services for Agnes Louise Belcher, 82, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. M. Jim Taylor officiating.
Mrs. Belcher died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1992, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 16, 1909, in Williamstown, the daughter of Aaron Brown and Hattie Ann (Harvey) Transue. She worked for the Castle Tea Room after completing school and later worked for the Lawrence Paper Co. during World War II. She and her husband, James, owned the Blue Bird Restaurant and later the 8th Street Cafe for many years before they retired.
Mrs. Belcher was a member of the Indian Hills Church of God. She belonged to the Rebekah Friendship Lodge No. 754 of Lawrence, and also was past noble grand of that lodge.
She married James Lewis Belcher on June 4, 1932. He died in July 1975.
Survivors include two brothers, Oliver Transue and Aaron Transue, both of Lawrence; two nieces; and two nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m to 8:30 p.m today at the funeral home.
