— Services for Beth Anne Thompson, 35, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Topeka, and 10 a.m. Saturday at Schneider Funeral Home, Janesville, Wis. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Gardens, Janesville.

Mrs. Thompson died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1992, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born March 9, 1956, at Janesville to Sherman and Lillian Alwin Cahill.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and received a master's degree in social work at Kansas University. She worked at the gerontology clinic at KU and for the research department of the Menninger Clinic, Topeka.

Mrs. Thompson was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and Kansans for the Improvement of Nursing Homes. She was a licensed social worker in Kansas.

She married Ray Eugene Thompson III of Galesburg, Ill., on Feb. 29, 1980, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include two brothers, Brian and Bruce Cahill, both of Janesville; and a sister, Barbara Sutherland, Sun Prairie, Wis.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lupus Foundation of America, Kansas City Chapter, 10804 Fremont, Kansas City, Mo., 64134.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Schneider Funeral Home, Janesville.
