Lawrence police recently announced that officers will conduct driver's license check lanes at various city locations through March 1.
Police said in a news release that check lanes would be set up at the following locations:
Southbound lane of the Kansas River Bridge.
700 block of New Hampshire.
1200 block of Massachusetts.
3200 block of West Sixth.
500 and 600 blocks of West Ninth.
2100 block of Kasold.
800 and 2200 blocks of Iowa.
According to the statement, the lanes are set up to make sure drivers have a valid driver's license and registration, and to identify problems such as faulty equipment or a driver who may be impaired because of drugs or alcohol.
