Ottawa Services for Beulah M. Thornton, 82, McLouth, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa with the Rev. Ed Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.
Mrs. Thornton died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1992, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 1, 1909, in Blue Mound the daughter of Daniel C. and Susan (Miller) Pippenger. She moved in 1919 from Kansas City to Ottawa, where she attended school. She later lived in Oskaloosa for 20 years and moved to McLouth three years ago. She was a cook at the Jefferson County Jail in Oskaloosa for four years.
She married Harry Mealman. He died March 29, 1958. She later married Ed Thornton. He died March 26, 1977.
Mrs. Thornton also was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou Ward.
Survivors include a brother, Clarence Pippenger, Baldwin.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. today until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
