Services for Eugene "Gene" K. Rood, 78, Littleton, Colo., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rynders officiating. Burial will be in Vinland Cemetery.

Mr. Rood died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1992, at a Denver medical center.

He was born Nov. 11, 1913, in Burlington, Okla., the son of Bert Wellington and Barbara Ellen Kasparek Rood.

He graduated from Vinland High School and from the Lawrence Business College.

Mr. Rood moved from Lawrence to Littleton, Colo., in 1960. He was an industrial mechanic for the Gates Rubber Co. in Denver. He retired in 1974.

He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Littleton, Colo.

He married Flora Mae James on April 6, 1938, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Kenneth, Orange, Calif., Jeri, San Bernardino, Calif., Neil, Arvada, Colo., and Greg, Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Janice Pasquarello, Littleton, Colo.; a brother, Ralph, Lawrence; two sisters, Ethel Dillon, Bandon, Ore., and June Hauptli, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.

A son, David, died in 1990.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorials to the Bethany Evangelical Free Church, in care of the funeral home.
