A 24-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early today by Lawrence police responding to a burglar alarm at Pinckney School, 810 W. Sixth.
Police arrived and arrested the man at 2:26 a.m. today.
Nothing was missing from the school, but police reported that the suspect entered the school by breaking a window on the south side of the building, causing $60 damage.
The suspect remained in the Douglas County Jail this morning without bond and was scheduled to make a first appearance in Douglas County District Court at 4 p.m. today.
Lawrence police Sgt. Mark Warren said police continue to look for a suspect in a burglary that reportedly occurred between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Lawrence High School, 1901 La.
An LHS teacher reported to Lawrence police that tools valued at $200 were taken from the storage area of the automotive shop, located in the southwest corner of the school.
Lawrence police did not know how the burglar entered the building but reported that the hasp on the storage area door had been broken and the door had been bent, causing $204 damage.
