KANSAS CITY, KAN. Services for Gladys M. Ransom, 84, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Simmons Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan., with the Rev. Phil Brownlee officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Ransom died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1992, in a nursing home in Maryland Heights, Mo., where she had been a resident for the past two years.
She was born June 21, 1908, in Leavenworth to John Harvey Shaw and Nellie Mabel Frazier.
She lived in Lawrence in the late 1940s before she and her husband moved to Kansas City, Kan.
On Nov. 10, 1940, she married Robert Ransom. He died in 1987.
Mrs. Ransom was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church, Kansas City, Kan., where she belonged to the Harmony Class, XYZ and Maryaids. In addition she was a member of Unit 90 of National Association of Railway and Veterans Employees, and she was a former home extension unit member.
Survivors include a son, Bob Ransom, Maryland Heights, Mo.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Simmons Funeral Home, 1404 S. 37th St., Kansas City, Kan.
The family suggests memorials either to Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church or to the church of the donor's choice.
