The local Quaker Oats plant is seeking a temporary injunction and restraining order against a man who has made numerous harassing telephone calls to a plant employee. Quaker filed the action against David B. Puckett, who is in the county jail after being found guilty last week of a misdemeanor count of escaping from custody. Puckett has harassed an employee of Quaker's, identified as "Laurie M." in the petition, for more than 11 years. He has been convicted on misdeameanor counts of telephone harassment for calling the woman in 1982, 1986 and 1989. Some of those calls were placed to the woman when she worked at the plant. The company wants Puckett to be prohibited from approaching, annoying, intimidating or harassing company employees; from visiting the plant or the residences of any of its employees; and from attempting to contact the company and any of its employees.
