Services for Bessie May Sheard, 95, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rumsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Freitag will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
She died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1992, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 18, 1897, in Fremont County, Iowa, to Benjamin P. Worcester and May Boldra.
She arrived in Esbon in 1907 by covered wagon and attended school in Esbon.
In 1913, she moved to Rock Creek, in Jefferson County, where she married Forrest Everett Sheard on March 24, 1915, and they moved to Yuma County, Colo. He died Apri. 21, 1979.
They moved to Lawrence in 1947, where she was a homemaker and quilter.
Mrs. Sheard was a member of Westside Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E., of Lawrence, and Glen B., Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and two daughters, Marjorie A. Snodgrass, Lawrence, and Evelyn M. Willis, Herington; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Rumsey Funeral Home.
