Burglaries and thefts reported

A total of $2,800 worth of items reportedly were stolen from an apartment in the 1100 block of Kentucky between 9:45 p.m. Thursday and 12:30 a.m. Friday. According to police reports, someone entered the residence by prying open the back door. Among the items stolen were 115 compact discs valued at $1,175, a compact disc player valued at $200, a Sony portable CD player valued at $300 and $415 worth of clothing.

A total of $1,435 worth of items reportedly were stolen from three cars parked in the 1200 block of West 28th Street Court between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 12:05 a.m. Thursday. Among items missing were a Clarion stereo system valued at $400 and 57 compact discs valued together at $900.

Condition reports

Mary Phinney, 27, Eudora, was released Friday from the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., where she was taken after an accident July 26 about seven miles east of Lawrence on Kansas Highway 10.
