Oskaloosa The case against five people arrested during a raid at a rural Meriden residence in February was dismissed Tuesday in Jefferson County District Court but is expected to be refiled.
Donald McPherson, 32, Gary McPherson, 41, Raymond McPherson, 19, Darrell McPherson, 20, all of rural Meriden, and Candace Mullins, 26, Burlingame, were arrested Feb. 11.
Jerold Berger, an attorney for the McPhersons, said the case will be refiled. "There was some misunderstanding with regard to property entered as evidence," he said. "It was just a technical problem."
Berger said Jefferson County Atty. Mike Hayes probably would refile the case within the next 10 days. Hayes refused to comment.
Kelly McPherson, 22, rural Meriden, also was arrested during the raid. A preliminary hearing for him is scheduled for May 5.
During the raid, Jefferson County sheriff's officers confiscated marijuana and methamphetamine and recovered property stolen earlier this year in a burglary at The Dam Store, north of Perry.
