Graveside services for William Wesley Tolbert, 44, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth. The Rev. Michael Scully will officiate.

Mr. Tolbert died Friday, Sept. 20, 1991, at the Veterans Hospital in Topeka. He had cancer.

He was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Leavenworth, the son of Gilbert and Hattie R. Wilson Tolbert. He attended public schools in Leavenworth and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.

He was a bone technician for Cedar of Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles for many years. He moved to Lawrence from Los Angeles five years ago. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his mother, Hattie Jordan, Lawrence; a daughter, Yvonne High, Fort Leavenworth; six brothers, Otis Johnson, San Antonio, Tex., Burcham and Delbert Tolbert, Leavenworth, and Claude, Charles and Louis Tolbert, Lawrence; two sisters, Ella Smith, Leavenworth, and Sarah Tolbert, Lawrence; and three grandsons.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
