— Services for Paul Vincent Cawley, 84, Valley Falls, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls. The Rev. Peter O'Sullivan will officiate, and burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Cawley died Saturday, Oct. 19, 1991, at a Eudora nursing home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1907, in Arrington east of Holton, the son of Thomas Francis and Mary S. McAsey Cawley.

Mr. Cawley moved to a farm east of Valley Falls when he was in seventh grade. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1919 and from Valley Falls High School in 1923. He was a farmer before he retired in 1971.

He was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls, served on the parish council, sang in the parish choir and served on the cemetery committee.

He was a past member of Father Michael O'Carroll Council No. 6671 of Knights of Columbus in Valley Falls, and the Valley Falls Historical Society. He had been an officer for Jefferson County Young Democrats and the board of Delaware Valley Drainage District No. 2.

Survivors include three sisters, Sister Anne Cawley, O.S.B., Atchison, Maurine Wenzl, Eugene, Ore., and Amy Cawley, Rogers, Ark.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Nellis Funeral Home, Valley Falls, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friends may visit after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
