Ja'Net Davis, a 6-3 center from Lynwood, Calif., has signed a letter of intent to play women's basketball at Kansas, head coach Marian Washington announced today.
Davis is the fourth-rated high school center in the nation, according to Blue Star.
Davis is a 6-3 senior center at Lynwood High School. This will be Davis' first year at Lynwood. She attended Morningside High School in Inglewood, Calif., the past three years.
As a freshman and junior at Morningside, Davis helped her team to the state title and Morningside competed in the state tournament her sophomore year. As a freshman Davis played with current Jayhawk Jo Jo Witherspoon.
Davis was highly recruited, but narrowed her choices to Oregon State and Kansas. She has been a starter throughout her high school career. Davis is a Street and Smith's third-team all-America selection.
"We're just delighted to have Ja'Net. She's one of the best centers in the country. We are delighted to have signed another outstanding athlete," Washington said. "What has impressed me the most is that not only are the players we've signed outstanding athletes, but outstanding individuals. She will be a fine addition to our program.''
