The number of condoms sold in vending machines in Kansas University residence halls hasn't changed much since Magic Johnson's announcement that he contracted the AIDS virus through heterosexual casual sex.
But that hasn't been the case at Jayhawker Towers, which houses a large number of KU athletes.
Meredith Rothrock, accounting clerk for KU Concessions, said vending workers on Nov. 4 added eight packages of condoms to the machine at Jayhawker Towers, signifying that six packages had been sold since the last refill.
But when concessions employees returned this Monday, they had to completely restock the supply of condoms. All 14 packages had been sold, Rothrock said.
