A camcorder valued at $1,000 was taken about 3 p.m. March 6 from an apartment in the 1000 block of Monterey Way. The owner of the camcorder reported the theft Monday, police reports show.
Jewelry items valued at $2,650 were taken between 8:15 a.m. March 11 and 3:30 p.m. March 14 from a woman's purse at Hallmark Cards Inc., 101 McDonald Dr., police reported today.
A tool box and tools valued together at $1,000 were taken between 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Sunday from the garage of a residence in the 4500 block of Winged Foot Court.
A 13-year-old Lawrence boy was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital today after sniffing paint fumes. A Haskell Indian Junior College security officer reported the incident after finding the boy at 5 a.m. in the television room of Winona Hall. Police said the boy had been spraying paint into a soft-drink can and then inhaling the fumes. He was taken by Douglas County ambulance workers to LMH.
Rodney Wiggins, 3, 420 North St., was released today from Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was taken Thursday after falling out of a car driven by his mother, Rita F. Calef, 22.
