— Services for Mary J. Howard, 95, Parsons, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons with the Rev. Fred Gates officiating. Burial will be at the Bronson Cemetery in Bronson. Eastern Star rites will be performed by the Progress Chapter No. 49, Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Howard died Tuesday at the Westbrook Manor Nursing Home in Parsons.

She was born June 11, 1895, on a farm near Moran in Allen County. She grew up on farms in Allen and Bourbon counties and lived many years on a farm north of Bronson. She moved to Parsons in 1952 and to Lawrence in 1960. She moved back to Parsons in 1975.

Mrs. Howard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Bronson Chapter No. 65, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting.

She married Roy E. "Jim" Howard on Oct. 1, 1913, in Iola. He died Jan. 7, 1959.

Survivors include a son-in-law, T. J. Moore, Lawrence; a daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons 67357.
