Graveside services for Lawrence Warsop, 79, DeSoto, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Silent City Cemetery in DeSoto with the Rev. Richard Copeland officiating.

Mr. Warsop died Sunday at his home in DeSoto. He was born Feb. 29, 1912, in DeSoto.

He grew up in DeSoto and attended school there.

Mr. Warsop worked as a federal civil service engineer and was an employee of Sunflower Ordnance Works. He retired in 1972 from the Olathe Naval Air Station and went to work as a painter in DeSoto.

He married Violet Taylor in Lawrence. She preceded him in death. He married Christine R. Eisle in Eudora. She died Jan. 29, 1975.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth, Green River, Wyo., Larry, DeSoto, and Terry, Buena Vista, Colo.; a sister, Mabel Grobe, Lawrence; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey Funeral Home in Lawrence, which is handling arrangements.
