Lawrence police on Saturday night were searching for a man who robbed a liquor store of an undetermined amount of cash.
Police said the robbery was similar to two others that occurred Thursday and Friday.
Officers were called about 10:30 p.m. to Barnhart Liquor, 3032 Iowa, after a man entered the store, told the clerk he was holding a gun under his jacket and demanded cash.
Police Sgt. Don Dalquest said the man walked out of the store after the clerk handed the man money in a paper bag. The clerk was not injured.
Officers believe the man drove off in a vehicle and were attempting to locate him late Saturday night.
Dalquest said officers were interviewing the clerk and possible witnesses, and that further details were not immediately available. No arrests had been made late Saturday night, he said.
However, Dalquest said the circumstances of Saturday night's crime were similar to robberies that occurred Friday night at Hird's Retail Liquor Store, 601 Kasold, and Thursday night at the Super 8 Motel, 515 McDonald Dr.
In all of the robberies, the suspect is described as being in his late 30s or early 40s, about 5 foot 11 inches tall, 175 to 185 pounds, with a mustache. He also has been descirbed as wearing an orange jacket or sweatshirt.
Police are asking anyone with information about the robberies to contact them.
