Services for Dorothy M. Elkinton, 76, McLouth, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Wayne S. Feuerbacher officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Oskaloosa.
Mrs. Elkinton died Tuesday, June 18, 1991, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 9, 1915, near Mankato, to John L. and Alva M. Hobbs Spielman. She lived in the Oskaloosa and McLouth communities since 1936.
Mrs. Elkinton worked for the former Fairview Nursing Home in Oskaloosa and later worked 10 years in the housing department at Kansas University. She retired in 1978.
She married Harold E. Elkinton on April 6, 1940, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Reed and Joyce Fair, both of McLouth, and Marlene Wegner, Parsons; three sons, Eldon, Gardner, and Duane and Larry, both of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Betty Wilkin, Aurora, Colo., and Joan Fries, Topeka; two brothers, Donald Spielman and Alfred Spielman, both of Topeka; and 15 grandchildren.
The family will meet with friends from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
