Baldwin Services for Margaret S. Cleavinger, 70, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin with the Rev. Kirby Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin.
Mrs. Cleavinger died Saturday, July 27, 1991, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka.
She was born May 8, 1921, on a farm south of Baldwin, to Ben and Mabel Buckner Davison. She grew up near Baldwin and attended rural country schools. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1938 and attended Baker University for two years.
Mrs. Cleavinger lived in several Kansas communities, including WaKeeney, Linwood, Salina, Baldwin and Sabetha, before retiring and moving to the family farm near Easton in northern Leavenworth County. In 1987, she returned to Baldwin. She was a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of Ives Chapel United Methodist Church, a former member of Rebekah Lodge No. 267 and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, all of Baldwin. She also was a former member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Linwood.
She married Joseph A. Cleavinger in Kansas City, Kan., on May 25, 1941. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, J.D., Lawrence, and Don, Garland, Tex.; a brother, Harry E. Davison, Conifer, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today. The family suggests memorials to the Ives Chapel church in care of the funeral home.
