Services for Gertie Faye Steffen, 91, rural Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Virgil Brady officiating. Burial will be in the Deay Cemetery near Eudora.
Mrs. Steffen died Tuesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1899, south of Eudora and was a lifelong resident of Douglas County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Steffen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
She married John Steffen, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Beatrice Roney, Lawrence; two sons, Clifford Steffen, Baldwin, and Richard Steffen, Lawrence; three sisters, Leota Westerhouse and Lena Deonier, both of Eudora, and Eva Selzer, Baldwin; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
