Absentee ballots are available at the Douglas County clerk's office at the Douglas County courthouse, 11th and Massachusetts.
Voters who will be out of town next Tuesday, the day of the primary election, may apply for and receive absentee ballots until noon Monday, said Patty Jaimes, Douglas County clerk. Voters who are ill or disabled may apply for and receive absentee ballots until noon next Tuesday.
All ballots must be returned to the county clerk's office by 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
The clerk's office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Jaimes said the Douglas County clerk's office also will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday for absentee voters.
"If they know they are going to be out of town on Election Day, they can can pick up their ballots and vote here early," she said.
Jaimes said absentee voters still may request that ballots be mailed to them, but that time was running short for ballots to be sent through the mail.
