The decision on charges that a Lawrence nightclub violated provisions of its license will not be made until after Monday, a state Alcoholic Beverage Control officer said Thursday.
The decision in the case against Pizazz, 901 Miss., had been expected by late this week, but Jim Conant, acting ABC director, said the hearing officer in the case had requested additional information from attorneys representing both sides in the case. Pizazz recently changed its name to The Power Plant.
The hearing officer asked for the information by Monday, Conant said, so the decision will come sometime after that.
A hearing was conducted by the ABC in Topeka after charges were made that the club served liquor to minors, admitted non-members and stayed open after hours.
The administrative hearing could result in fines or suspension of the club's Class B license, which expires next Thursday. The club's owners have applied for renewal of the license. A decision on the renewal must be made by Feb. 28.
