Tommie L. Jones, 39, 736 W. 25th, and David Langston, 31, Eudora, both were charged in Douglas County District Court on Friday afternoon with aggravated robbery in connection with Thursday night's holdup at a convenience store located about 5 miles south of Lawrence.
According to sheriff's reports, the men walked into the Zarco store at about 6 p.m. and demanded at gunpoint that the clerk hand over the money in the cash register. The store is located south of Lawrence on U.S. Highway 59,
The robbers got away with some cash and a 12-pack of beer, according to reports.
Shortly before 7 p.m. a Eudora police officer spotted a car that matched the description of the robbers' vehicle near Vinland.
Eudora authorities contacted sheriff's officers and together they stopped the car and arrested Langston and Jones about one-quarter mile south of 31st and Haskell.
Officers reported on Friday that when they arrested the men, they recovered a BB pistol, which resembled the gun the store clerk had described as a 9mm handgun.
Both men are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 16.
