— Services for Veta Isabell Shughart, Winchester, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church here with the Revs. Donald Powell and Donald Shughart officiating. Burial will be in Plum Grove Cemetery south of Winchester.

Mrs. Shughart died Friday, Aug. 9, 1991, in a Winchester hospital. She was 71.

She worked at Peacock Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Topeka many years before she retired in 1971.

Mrs. Shughart was born May 13, 1906, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Louis and Edna Bird Roberts. She lived in Topeka from 1942 to 1954 and later lived in the Winchester and McLouth communities.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Winchester and United Methodist Women.

She was married to Lester G. "Pete" Shughart Nov. 22, 1922, in Leavenworth. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Doris Charlene Willem, Riverside, Calif.; two sons, Russell W., Overland Park, and the Rev. Donald F., Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Mabel Hollingsworth, Merriam; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Blanche Shughart, died Feb. 10, 1924.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Winchester.
