A television set, a videocassette recorder, stereo equipment and miscellaneous items valued together at $1,370 were taken between 9 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. Thursday from a residence in the 1600 block of Ohio.
The condition of Fred D. Lee, 35, Rt. 3, Lawrence, has been upgraded from critical to fair at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., where he was taken after a motorcylce accident early Wednesday. Lee, who suffered a head injury in the accident, was driving north on North Iowa toward Lakeview Road at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his motorcycle.
District court Criminal case proceedings
Gary Dawson, 33, Lawrence, pleaded not guilty today in Douglas County District Court to one felony count of possessing cocaine, one felony count of selling cocaine without a tax stamp and two felony counts of selling cocaine. Dawson, Joe Jones, 24, Lawrence, and Kenneth Foster, 40, Lawrence, were arrested July 5 in a related drug investigation earlier this year. Jones also pleaded not guilty to four felony counts of selling cocaine. Foster pleaded not guilty to charges of two felony counts of selling cocaine. Jury trials for the men are scheduled for Oct. 21.
