Kansas outside linebacker Marc Ettrick has been lost for the season with a knee injury. The 6-5, 235-pound red-shirt freshman from Brooklyn, N.Y., will undergo surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament on Thursday.
Ettrick, who suffered the injury in the Louisville game, is the third KU linebacker to tear an anterior cruciate ligament. The other two are Steve Harvey, a freshman who was hurt during the Kansas Shrine Bowl, and Larry Kress, a red-shirt freshman who suffered his injury during preseason practice.
Ettrick started the opener against Virginia, but lost his job to Guy Howard in the Oregon State and Louisville games.
