Nicholas J. Yurchak Jr., 23, Eudora, was sentenced Tuesday to one to five years imprisonment on an amended felony count of attempted aggravated assault. Yurchak originally was charged July 11 with a felony count of aggravated assault but pleaded guilty Sept. 11 to the amended charge. The charges stem from a July 10 incident in which he threatened to shoot a 26-year-old Eudora man while armed with a shotgun at the victim's apartment complex.
Brian C. Berry, 18, Kansas City, Kan., Monday was sentenced to six months in jail on an amended misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing and one year in jail on a misdemeanor count of theft, but then was granted a two-year probation term. He originally was charged Aug. 6 with theft and a felony count of auto burglary after he entered a 1984 Volkswagen and took a car stereo. He pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to the theft charge and the amended count.
