Memorial services for Rowena Ewing Peoples, 78, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Plymouth Congregational Church with the Rev. George B. Owen officiating. She was cremated. A private inurnment will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
Mrs. Peoples died Saturday at her home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1912, in Lockney, Tex. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1930 and later received a bachelor's degree from West Texas State University.
Mrs. Peoples taught school until 1945.
In 1954, she moved to Lawrence from Waltham, Mass. She worked as an assistant editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research at Kansas University.
Mrs. Peoples was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
She was married to James A. Peoples in June 1941 in Tulia, Tex. He died Dec. 12, 1980.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert H. Ewing, Boerne, Tex., John S. Ewing, Falmouth, Mass.; and a sister, Lucy Ewing Clawson, Canyon, Tex.
The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the church.
