Law enforcement report

Burglaries and thefts reported

Lawrence police are investigating the theft of more than $3,000 worth of movie, camera and stereo equipment from a residence in the 2900 block of Peterson Road on Saturday.

According to a police report, suspects pried open a garage door and entered the residence. Stolen items included a stereo tape deck, a receiver, a camcorder and a camera and lens. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. and 9:55 a.m. Saturday, the report said. The items were valued at $3,174.

Injury accidents

A woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a one-car accident late Saturday night on Douglas County Road 1061 about four miles south of Kansas Highway 10.

A Douglas County Sheriff's Department officer said the woman suffered bruises and lacerations after her car went off the road and struck a sign. She was transported by Douglas County Ambulance Service personnel to the hospital, where she was being treated late Saturday night.

The accident occurred about 10:45 p.m. A sheriff's department dispatcher said the woman's name was not available late Saturday.
