Graveside services for Helen A. Bell, 70, Overland Park and formerly of the Centropolis area, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery northwest of Centropolis with the Rev. Paul Winkler officiating.

Mrs. Bell died Thursday at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam.

Mrs. Bell was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Centropolis, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Appanoose High School in 1937.

Mrs. Bell spent most of her life in the Kansas City area. For 17 years, she owned and operated Helen's Beauty Salon, Overland Park, and then moved the business to Shawnee for two years before her retirement in 1974.

She was a member of the National Hairdressers Assn.

Survivors include a son, David, Oskaloosa; a daughter, Deborah Cannafax, Overland Park, two brothers, Ted Clark, Centropolis, and Dee Clark, LaSalle, Colo.; a sister, Bess Blackburn, El Paso, Tex.; and several nieces and nephews.

Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
