A 21-year-old Kansas University student reported that three men mugged him about 10:30 p.m. Saturday as he was walking in the 1000 block of West 23rd. The man said the men hit him from behind then took turns beating and kicking him. They later demanded cash, and the man gave them $19. Police were unable to locate the suspects. The victim said the three generally fit the same description: white men, 18 to 23 years old, 5-foot-8, weighing 140 to 150 pounds. After the attack, the student ran to the Dillon's grocery store, 1015 W. 23rd, where a security guard called police. The man suffered a cut the length of his nose and a large scrape to the chin.
