To the Editor:
The Meeting for Peace concluded Oct. 19 when all the Soviet delegates boarded the bus for the first part of their long journey back to Moscow. The sadness of this separation was captured in several of the photographs printed in the Journal-World. The bonding between the host families and their Soviet guests was exciting to be a part of.
These kinds of people-to-people experiences provide the background for understanding and cooperation that crosses politics, language and ideologies. I have heard from many of the host families that their experiences far exceeded anything they imagined. My sincere thanks goes to all who participated in this one-in-a-lifetime event.
