Military graveside inurnment services for J. Edward "Ed" Myers, 83, Lawrence, will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery and will be conducted by the Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Myers died Thursday at a Veterans Administration hospital in Topeka.
He was born April 14, 1906, in Holton, and moved to Lawrence in 1974. He was a reporter for the Lawrence Outlook until he retired in 1973.
Mr. Myers served as an Army captain in World War II.
He was a life member of the Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 American Legion and the Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity, all of Lawrence.
There are no survivors.
