SEVEN SIGN LETTERS FOR KANSAS TRACK

Seven more track athletes four men and three women have signed scholarship agreements with Kansas University.

The men signees are:

Dan Walters, a middle distance runner from Roeland Park Miege who has run the 400 in 50.7 and the 800 in 1:57.4.

Brent Baker, a middle distance runner from Amarillo, Tex., who has run the 400 in 48.1 and the 800 in 1:54.7.

Kwanza Johnson, the Oklahoma 400-meter dash champion from Oklahoma City John Marshall. His best clocking in the 400 in 48.1.

Mike Penrose, a middle distance runner from Independence, Mo., William Chrisman. His personal bests at 50.02 in the 400 and 1:55.17 in the 800.

The women signees are:

Heather Berlin, a weights thrower from Liberal who has best mark of 137-7 in the discus, 148-7 in the javelin and 33-6 in the shot.

Tracie Driver, a horizontal jumper from Caruthersville, Mo., with bests of 17-8 in the long jump and 37-7 in the triple jump.

Mendy McGuire, a weights thrower from Hutchinson Trinity with a best of 100-5 in the discus and 39-0 in the shot.
