Police are searching for two men involved in a barroom fight early Sunday morning that left one man with a superficial knife wound on the neck.

According to police, the fight started about 12:15 a.m. in AJ's Eighth Street tavern, 117 E. Eighth, and the brawl continued in the street outside after the men were ejected from the tavern.

One man armed with a pocket knife inflicted a superficial cut on the neck of a 38-year-old Lawrence man, police said. The man who had the knife then got into a car and tried to run over the victim, who was fighting with a third man.

Police said the driver missed his intended victim and instead struck the third man. The driver backed up, hit a parked pickup truck, then again tried to run over the victim.

He again missed his intended target and again struck the other man.

After that, police said, the man struck by the car managed to get into the car. The two men, who were described as in their 30s, then drove away.
