Services for Fred McClure, 73, Lawrence, are pending at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Mr. McClure died this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1916, at South Coffeyville, Okla., and had lived in Lawrence since 1951 after moving here from Manhattan.
Mr. McClure was the owner and operator of the White Sewing Center, Lawrence. He had owned the shop from 1954 to 1984.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion.
Mr. McClure married Rosetta Umscheid Feb. 22, 1941, at Flush. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, John R. McClure of rural Lawrence, and Jim L. McClure of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, C.H. McClure of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Mary Cessna of South Coffeyville, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
