Private inurnment services for Allan Weinstein, 60, Lawrence, will be held in August at the Beth El Cemetery in Paramus, N.J.
Mr. Weinstein died July 12 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital following a short illness. The body was cremated.
He was born Jan. 17, 1930, in the Bronx, N.Y. He grew up in the Bronx. He worked as a research assistant at Penn State University and later at DuPont in Wilmington, N.J. He was employed by the New York Naval Shipyards from 1951 to 1955 and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. from 1964 to 1971.
Mr. Weinstein received a bachelor's degree from New York University, a master's degree from Brooklyn College and a doctorate in fuel technology from Penn State University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
He moved to Lawrence in 1980, where he worked as a chemist.
Survivors include two sons, Drew, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Marc, of Washington, D.C.; and a brother, Warren, of Huntington, N.Y.
